Well, five months after having 0 scanners, and knowing nothing about amateur radio, I have my General ham ticket and 13 devices that qualify as either a scanner, communications receiver, or transceiver:

Left to right:
· (top -> bottom) (1) Alinco DR-605T 2M/70cm mobile transceiver, (2) Uniden BCT-8, (3) RS Pro-2026
· (4) RS Pro-2034, (5) RS Pro-2050, (6) Regency HR-212 2M Transceiver
· (7) ICOM IC-F14 VHF Transceiver
· (8) RS Pro-97
· (9) ICOM IC-Q7A 2M/70cm 1/2 watt Transceiver
· (10) Alinco DJ-X7 Wideband Communications Receiver
· (behind the DJ-X7), (11) RS Pro-37
· (12) RS DX-402 Digital Shortwave radio w/LW, Broadcast AM/WFM
· (13) ICOM PCR-100 Wideband Scanner/Receiver

Funny thing is, I really only use the Pro-97 and the DJ-X7. I actually just took this picture to see how much unused stuff I've bought (after scouring my room). The DR-605T transceiver and the BCT-8 are going to go in the car along with the Valor PMM3B antenna all the way on the right. My apartment is small and I'm not rich so don't laugh.

In the future, I plan on making some antennas as I think my apartment severely limits me in terms of reception.

Looks like you've got some good equipment there. Put'em to use and enjoy.

Thanks, I just feel like I have so much to learn before I can even use this stuff though.

My Old Regency Hr-212 2 meter looks happy in her new home....

Yeah...felt like getting some crystal-based radio experience.

Looks like a nice collection to me, especially for a beginner. Don't worry, you'll find a use for most of the stuff and end up selling or trading the other stuff as you have the urge to "move up" in the world. When I downsized and moved away from California, I had exactly five radios left - a Pro 92, 96, 2096, a Yaseu VX-2R, and a Grundig Yacht Boy 400. This was after selling or giving away about 15 radios. Since I've settled down again in Alabama, I "had" to get a Pro-97 and a Kaito KA1103. Now I'm starting lust after a couple of those new GRE receivers and thinking I need to upgrade my ham portable. It just never ends. :)

I had a DR-605T as my first radio when I originally got my license back in '97. It was a fun little radio, definitely nice to get started with on 2m and 440. I remember thinking it was the coolest thing when I finally put the CTCSS decoder board into it turning it in to a DR-605TQ, and I finally didn't have to listen to the out-of-state repeater on the same frequency pair as the local machine I used at the time. Ah, the good old days... ;-)

Nice little stable of gear you have there!

Goes to show that you don't need a shack. I don't have a shack either, all my stuff is portable and kept in a backpack in the closet ready to go.
