Now Receiving Peekskill P D

I am in Putnam County, about 5 air miles from the City of Peekskill (Westchester County), and was only able to receive Peekskill PD on 460.1 Mhz. when the leaves were off the trees during the winter. All of a sudden, this weekend, I am receiving them at about 1/2 scale on both my Uniden 396 and 996 scanners. Does anyone know what they did----Raise power---move the antenna to a higher location, etc. ???

Sure burst my bubble. My Pro-96 broke and I upgraded to a Pro-106. I also noticed I suddenly started receiving Peekskill and assumed it was because of the new scanner.

Where are you located---I'm in Putnam Valley, and I've never received them other than very weakly during the winters until last week.

I am 5 miles south of Peekskill and could never pick them up. I could pick them up from the Tappan Zee Bridge so I just assumed it was a terrain issue. All of a sudden I can hear them weakly in the house. Not 100% though. Perhaps they did something up there. Maybe they blasted away enough of Route 9 for the signal to get through (just kidding of course)
