• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I may have to order one to try out with the radios here at work.

Interestingly enough, they're right close by. I thought the photos of runners (esp the bridges/buildings in the background) looked suspiciously like they were shot in Columbus, and then I discovered they were. . . the company is headquartered in Worthington, one of the suburbs.

The second unit arrived and I have learned a couple things.

There is an activity time out timer, somewhere in the range of 5 - 15 minutes where the 39g will power off.

There is another timer, and it powers off at 3 hours. Turn it back on and it will immediately reconnect to the pager and go for another 3 hours (as long as there is activity). I was able to repeat this 4 times without a re-charge.

I don't believe the 3 hour timer is caused by the pager because the 39g says "powering off" instead of "disconnected". "Disconnected" is what the 39g says when you turn off bluetooth on the pager or turn off the pager.

I did have a problem with the original 39g where audio was very garbled. The second unit has not exhibited this malfunction.

Good points to consider.
That is something to consider depending on the individual’s use.
I am using mine where the activity on the TG(s) has allowed this to happen one time in the last few months

The following are my assessments of Noxgear 39G :

Unication G5, FW 1.31 with V03-16.24 PPS
Noxgear 39G speaker ( 39 gram ).
I have no affiliation with Noxgear.

What worked:
Easily paired with my G5 ( Less than 1 minutes).
No Beep ( I unchecked the box under Tab 8 / BT speaker in PPS).
The 39G produces Clear and strong audio. Stronger audio than the internal G5 pager speaker.
My unication volume level @ 40 and 39G setting @ 3 clicks before Max ( Out doors by the beach).
Ability to clip the 39G closer to ears in noisy environment. Strong Magnet Clip or Clip.
Speaker is very lightweight.
5 plus Hours of operation under one charging cycle. Charged within 3 hours ( Charging cable included).
Paired easily with my IOS devices ( when not used with G5). Phone calls and music were clear and natural sounding.
Ability to use a wired head set ( 39G has a 3.5mm headphone jack).
Strong magnet for attaching the small speaker to any metal surface.
Blue flashing light is a safety step for running or walking in early mornings. Visible within 10 feet.

Needs work:
The G5 / IOS devices/ sound distorted and cut off after 10 feet of separation from 39G.
Flashing blue light can be disturbing in a dark room.
Unaware of the internal battery life cycle.
Unaware if the internal battery is field replaceable.
Can not pair with multiple devices simultaneously.

I agree with all the points.
I would add a couple of observations;
Good build quality for a consumer product,
splash and rain resistant, “IPX64” , FWIW
relatively inexpensive
Range is limited with my G5 and G4, but that seems more of an issue with the Bluetooth implementation on the Unications.
It has about a 20-30 foot range when connected to my iphone.
Connecting with two devices at the same time is a deficiency for me. While I use it all the time in the car, if I know I will be out of the car and expecting a phone call, I’ll use my plantronics voyager or Jabra Elites which can remain paired to the Unication and the iPhone.

I am also going to go agree with the positive reviews for the NoxGear. It works really well on the G4. I think this is a must have accessory for those that use the Unication series. Thanks NoxGear!

Little pricey, but worth it.

Can someone test it with Zello.
DM me if you can so were not interfering with this thread. (unless the mods are ok with it here as well).
I have a G4 and Zello. Would be nice to use this while my iPhone is on the wireless stand up charger. Curious to see if you can PTT from this device or still need to use the phone screen for PTT.

got mine delivered. First few hours of using it i will say the audio is good.
Whats odd is the audio from the G4 and KNG2 sound good but when paired to my iPhone Xs and listening to Zello the audio doesnt sound as good as the phone speakers. But still testing it out.
