Anyone have a link to frequencies for the North Texas Tollroad Authority? I've searched the DB and this forum and haven't found them.

I'm building a "bad weather" scanlist for the inevitable 1 or 2 snow/ice events that we have around here each Winter.

Thanks in advance...

I've got 151.13 listed (sorry, no tone info), but it may be out of date.

I think if I am not mistaken the input.. the output is 157.3500 PL 162. I could be wrong and it could be the other way around.

I think you're right, Matt.
157.3500 has been used on the tollroad for quite a while (since it started).

I think what Brentorious is trying to figure out is any frequencies for road crews, since he mentions ice & snow events. I don't see any of those either. Wonder if they actually subcontract some of that, or use either a radio service's repeater (LTR or otherwise), or Nextel.

I really don't know probably subcontracted would be my guess. I guess the only way to find out is to keep an eye out and see what company that's doing the road work and go from there.

Speaking of the NTTA, the 157.3500 frequency I noticed has really horrible coverage. I am not sure where they have the repeaters or how much power they use but I live just off a stones throw away from the DNT and probably under a mile away or so away from the Parker/Park tollbooth and my reception of them most of the time is just horrible.

And just to go off topic for a second.. has anyone here gone on the NTTA's web site and looked at their top 10 list of violators? When I first looked at the list I couldn't believe what some of these people owed! The list for those who want to look can be found here http://www.ntta.org/NR/rdonlyres/5E094E3C-9E1C-4F11-9938-BE885E267424/0/Oct2007ViolatorsR.pdf

Yes, I was actually thinking of having the frequency used by the sand trucks handy. I'm on the tollway all the time, so I'll try to get a name off of one of the trucks. As best I can recall, they all just have a big NTTA logo. Thanks all, if I can find anything I'll submit it to the database.

The only licensed frequencies I see for them, which you've probably seen as well, are the 157.350, and it's probable input (151.130), plus the intercity base/mobile combo, 155.370 & 154.950.

As Matt said, reception is not real good, & I live farther away than he does, but I don't recall ever hearing any sand truck, or even road repair traffic on 157.350. Even if the crews are not subbed out, they could still be leasing the radios &/or airtime from a common carrier, which means the license would not necessarily be under NTTA's name. Sounds like a job for Close Call, or Signal Sweeper, or whatever your scanner calls that feature.

isn't the NTTA supposed to have that big state of the art communications center? i wonder if maybe sanding could be subbed out to txdot or the cities like plano. If anyone finds out let us know

I agree, the reception is absolutely horrible. It is kind of amazing.

The poor reception may be due to the use of directional antennas.
A long time ago before PGB Turnpike was built they had antennas that pointed up and down DNT. I don't know if it is still like that.

157.35 was very active with an accident where a delivery truck backed up at a tollbooth and over a small car! Driver of the car had warrants from McKinney but heard the DPS trooper say let's hold off on that until we get this worked out. They kept asking the dispatcher if the accident was on video.

Also interesting you get lousy reception. I live by Love Field and hear very well down here...as well as way over in Ft. Worth when I have my scanner on DPS. It also is readable way far north now too...only fitting as the DNT makes its way to OK...
