Just FYI. Started hearing it a couple minutes ago (approximately 06:43 UTC).

There's lots of fading, but it's mostly readable with my 50' random longwire antenna. Almost anything else could probably pick it up better.

It's listenable from KPH KiwiSDR located at Pt. Reyes, California.

Ah, interesting. This is the first time I'd heard it, so wasn't sure if it was known or not.

In this case the station, HM01, is well known and has a well defined schedule. So providing the data "numbers station", 10345 kHz, and 0643 UTC, allowed someone to tell you what you probably heard. But, in the future you might want to include a bit more description of what you heard. The mode used (USB, AM, LSB, etc). The language heard, even if you are not sure "I think it was an Asian language" is better than no information at all. The format, if you can tell it, groups of 3, 4, or 5 numbers, other sounds heard in the transmission, etc. Male or female voice. The more detail you can provide the more likely someone is to be able to give you a decent ID on a station, particularly if it is a less common station than HM01.

@Token Ah, good to know! I'm fairly new to this hobby, so thank you for the suggestions!

I probably don't need to now, but for the sake of completeness, I'll list the other details I heard:
  • The mode was AM. No SSB.
  • The numbers were spoken by a female voice in Spanish
  • It was a 5 number series
  • Other sounds included a digital transmission and a tone of some kind that separated it from the vocal portion of the transmission
I was able to make a recording of it, which I can post in case anyone would like to hear it.

A recording, in this case, is probably not needed, but is always a good idea to have available. When you hear something you find odd, make a recording, just in case.

Your description is a perfect example of HM01. AM, female voice, Spanish (shorthand SS), 5 numbers in a group (shorthand 5f), digital tones between each number group, frequency 10345 kHz, 0643 UTC. Every detail you describe fits HM01, the known HM01 schedule, and HM01 is the only currently active example that fits the majority of the details.

There is at least one other currently active numbers station (V07) that is a SS, female voice, and 5f, but it is in USB, has no digital component, and does not use that frequency or that time.

There are other, past, similar numbers stations, SS, female, and 5f. It would not be unheard of for a currently inactive, past used, numbers station to reactivate. So having all the details helps to confirm what you heard is not one of them. But again, none of the past stations fit your description so good to go.

@Token Thank you! Once again, I appreciate the helpful advice. I'm learning, and every bit of info helps greatly!

@Marcy57 Yes, R. Havana's English (what's the abbreviation for English?) programming booms in clearly over 6000 kHz. I've heard SS come in on other frequencies, but I don't think I've heard anything up in the 10 MHz+ range. However, since I haven't been at this for long, it's entirely possible I simply haven't noticed yet.

All of that information can be validated on the page I linked to, for you. You should bookmark priyom.org for the future, when you get something else that's new to you.
