I think 14.313 if fun sometimes. If it isn't -too- extreme I like to participate too (it's been awahile though). What do you do when it get's too 'extreme' for you? You leave. That doesn't mean I think you should 'push' it to an extreme. Don't know about you, but I'd do the same thing if physically present, if that makes sense.
Does that mean I condone all that goes on there? Nope. But it can certainly be fun at times...

True. The NUT is far more offensive and will melt your speaker with foul language. I choose to spin the dial and talk with nice people, with minds, and a modicum of social grace. It just ain't for me - I'm just an old fart.
14.313 is a watering hole for some very deranged idiots. I can name some of these foul mouthed jerks going all the way back to the mid 1970s. I won't name the perpetrators because they don't deserve the notoriety.
This is one reason I prefer to stay off the HF bands and play with more exotic modes like 6M and 2M digital modes.

Although I would never talk to any of the idiots on 14.313, I do find it kind of amusing to listen for short periods of time every now and then. It is the same "show" every night though, with the same cast of characters. It's like a rerun every night.

I have trouble hearing the 14.313 gang here on the west coast. Besides, it's only one frequency out of endless possibilities...

Well I am on the West Coast, and I can often hear folks chatting on this frequency down south when the notable local guy isn't transmitting. Usually swearing at and trying to jam our local yokel.
Maybe you are just in a skip dead spot. Texas is often quite hearable here on South Vancouver Island.

N3SUB USS Dakota. now on 14313Khz. I wonder how long before the nuts get on 14313khz and start to cause issues with legit Amateur traffic.

14.313 is "that" frequency where the kids play. Sort of like the CB of 20 meters. Karol the Canadian is one of them. There's a few others. Yes lots of cussing or playing song clips to "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy....or "Sweet Home Alabama"....

There is some kind of Automated message running on 14313.
Hardly surprising. I've hear that from time to time. I recommend judicious use of your tuning knob.
