Has anyone setup the NY National Guard? I added it to my BCD436hp using ARC, but I'm unsure of the correct settings. I just got this scanner after losing my 396 a few years ago.
Appreciate any help.

Generally they’re issued radios from the municipality they are deployed in. In the past, they operated on the ISR frequencies. Those are pretty worthless to monitor, since they’re simplex. I have not seen any Signal Battalions setting up any equipment in areas I’ve been where they are deployed, so I’d think they’re either using municipality issued radios, or DONT have a need for comms at this time.

If you are talking about Army National Guard, they sometimes hang out in the Federal portions of VHF-Lo. You can usually catch them there on convoys or when deployed on checkpoints. It is all mobile simplex.

I’m actually upstate in Greene county. The federal and NG keep popping up but I think they’re too far south of me to pick up.

What frequencies/frequency are you getting the NG on?

I have the freqs that chrismol1 posted above plus Common Fedral, Military & Federal Disaster from the database. I haven't been able to hear anything on any of them though they keep coming up.

I’m in between Albany and Kingston. They’re active but I can’t hear anything.

I honestly couldn't tell you if they are encrypted or not. I've been away from this for some time and I may even have them set up wrong. lol
They do pop up but all I hear is static.

Ok, there’s a good chance these freqs are simplex and youlol need to be in the general area to be able to pick them up.

I’m about 3-5 miles from the city line of Albany. Searching all the sections. All modes. Nothing so far for this.
