Don't know about SOD but, with most agencies, it is either a request for the unit to contact a particular party by phone or a request from the unit to be contacted by phone. Also, does anyone know what a landline request is? I sometimes hear that over SOD radio.
Alright, makes sense. Thanks!Don't know about SOD but, with most agencies, it is either a request for the unit to contact a particular party by phone or a request from the unit to be contacted by phone.

he is not the only one who is always arrogant and rude for years on here. The Techs hate the hobbyists.Drummer 36:
Your question RE landline is a good one and logical for someone new to monitoring SOD. ff206's explanation is exactly right.
ecps92 thinks he knows everything and can't allow himself to accept new hobbyists to the message boards. He has been arrogant and rude for years on here. Keep asking questions about our great hobby and ignore the troll. Enjoy listening to SOD while you still can. Some of the best scanning anywhere.

Yes. The truck is usually the supervisor and the REP’s handle the jobs unless the truck must respond. Generally the REP’s will handle the jobs because the truck is the supervisor and NYPD mindset is you never let the supervisor answer jobs. The truck must respond to certain jobs because it is the supervisor but for the run of the mill jobs it’s usually the Adam or Boy or if there is enough men the Charlie car will handle.Thank you for your reply!
If I understand correctly, the ESS units are what they refer to as Truck 1, Truck 2 etc. Does the above apply to the regular "smaller" units (Adam 1, Adam 2 etc) as well?
So if ESS #1 is always assigned to Lower Manhattan that would include Truck 1 as well as REP 1 (Adam 1, Boy 1 etc.)?Yes.
