Came across Hefner air at 1:20am. North of 39th on Hefner Parkway. I think the calling party stated a police car hit the center median.

They came back across a minute or so later and said they were going to have to shut the Parkway down. The officer was also transporting prisoners.

They ended up asking for a case number for an ADW also.

Can't wait to hear what all went down on this one. Possibly a violent prisoner got through the cage somehow?

Gotcha!

I will get the full story later, but I am sure some others will too. Not to mention, it will make the news. I heard them ask for the PIO to meet with the media.

KTUL here in Tulsa reports the officer was giving 3 people a courtesy ride to a motel and lost control of his cruiser and struck the center median.

They were Tulsa firefighters he picked up at Graham's. One had broken bones is the last I heard. Was giving them a ride back to the Marriott Hotel on NW Expressway.

If they were firefighters, I really hope that I confused two calls. I was pretty posititive that Baker 32 went out on the wreck and then a few minutes later he asked for a second case number for assault with a deadly weapon.

OC police officer, three others injured in crash

ASSOCIATED PRESS

OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City police officer and three other people are hospitalized following an overnight car crash in northwest Oklahoma City.

The names of the four haven't been released but police say the injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.

Police say the officer was giving the three a courtesy ride to a hotel when he lost control of his patrol car and hit a retaining wall on the Lake Hefner Parkway.

One channel I believe it was CH 9 was the one reported he was taking the Tulsa firefighters back to the hotel. Because they had a OKC PIO on saying that they from time to time do this for even citizens in the community.

One of the firefighters was the son of a friend. He said the officer was going around 110mph and a car pulled out in front of him. They couldn't tell how fast the police car was going. No lights or sirens, he shouldn't have been going this fast just giving a courtesy ride. The fireman recieved a broken pelvis. One of the other ones was cut up from hitting the cage between the front and back seats, the other two were treated and released.

The officer was going around 110mph huh? And he knows that because he had a radar in the car? He's been certified in visual speed estimation?

Also, I don't know what your experience is but my experience is that 110mph crashes don't usually involve two people being treated and released.

Oh there was a crash, and sure, the officer was probably speeding (they usually are) but 110mph? I don't think so.

Must be a new radar, because all the ones I've seen/operated quit working around 70mph ;)

I'm with the squirrel on this, I've assisted on 4 wrecks where a trooper estimated the driver was traveling 100+ mph, 3 of them had at least one fatality.

They looked over his shoulder, you know, you can look at the speedometer from the back seat. The car was spinning when it hit the barrier, so it didn't hit straight on.

At this very moment I amlooking at the skid marks from the wreck. Not looking at a picture either. Can you define "spinning"? These marks aren't what I would call a spin. I could even take some pictures if you want.
