Greetings,
Has anyone heard any radio traffic on any of these newly posted frequencies? If so, I was wondering if it was only heard in Richmond or also the other districts around the state that have branch offices of the OCME.
Thanks,
David

You will probably not hear any medical examiner radio traffic unless they are responding to or communicating with another agency on one of the mutual aid or interoperability frequencies in your area. Most of the radio traffic is in the greater Tidewater area, tough they can operate statewide. The UHF frequencies and 154.4225 MHz can be encrypted.

Hey there. I read this with some interest, as I haven't really thought of this agency, and must confess some ignorance on the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. I must ask though, why would the traffic be centered in Tidewater?

Interesting that the UHF freqs are all between the MED channels. I think that's the same DCS code used by the Phillip Morris building across the street from them in the Richmond Biotech Park.

I can't imagine much need for radio traffic by this agency, barring some sort of mass disaster. But the installation of STARS radios seems like a prime opportunity to get some capability on HEAR, fire/EMS mutual aid, etc. plus a conventional freq for their very own.

Sounds like another good set for the Red Cross/BIFC/Oil Spill, etc. section of the scanner.
