I don't know if they still have them in their vehicles operational, but I can say I haven't heard Post 41 Wintersville on low band for the past two months I've been monitoring. I've heard them exclusively on MARCS.

Just SOUTH of you in Gallia & Meigs counties, they still have the low band radios installed in their cruisers. But, they have no one to talk to (at least at THIS post)....

They've removed ALL of the low band base radios from the tower site!!!! Been there, saw that myself....

Post 41 OSP Car observation

Last time I drove past Post 41 in December 2006, I noted many of the cars still having their lowband antennas. Post 76 (Canton) cars have had their lowband antennas removed and now a rubber plug is placed filling the hole. The new OSP cars deliverd to Post 76 last summer had no lowband whips installed on them, except for CB!

I spoke with an installer at the Columbus OSP car preparation site in August and he advised they were no longer installing lowband equipment in the cars as MARCS was working so well. No need for it anymore. I now miss seeing the OSP cars with those long lowband whip antennas installed.
