Old afedri sdr

I've got a 10-year-old Afedri sdr net (with usb and ethernet connections on front panel). I did make it work ten years ago but not now. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to work. Might the old firmware not be working with newer Lenovo laptop? Does anyone know what the firmware version might be for this Afedri I purchased in 2012? The only firmware upgrade I saw involved jumpers and other things that are way above my knowledge level. I have tried both usb and ethernet connections and nothing works. Is this me just not figuring it out or a firmware problem with connecting? Any ideas ?

HDSDR should work. Firmware versions (depending on your type [HF/VHF] of SDR) are on the download side.

I am using HDSDR and have the Afedri control box in the HDSDR folder and both open when I open HDSDR. But black screen pops up behind the control box saying connection was actively refused (usb connection). I closed antivirus and firewall and got the same result when I tried again. With both the usb and ethernet methods, it seems that the computer can not recognize the sdr. I have researched and do not find much about
this kind of problem.

Could someone please print or send me a copy of the sdr-config file, in their working, usb connected Afedri sdr, so I can get some idea of what it looks like.

Thanks. I got this resolved by loading HDSDR and Afedri control box software onto a different computer. The diiferent computer did NOT have the Zadig software I had used on the first computer, to set up sdr dongles and I do not want to change that computer. All is good.
