Since last week Old Bridge Twp. has been using 155.6475 CTCSS 123.0 for fire and first aid paging. They are also still using 46.42 csq for fire and fist aid paging. The two frequencies are simulcasting I am not sure if the new frequency will eventually replace the low band one.

I saw the techs installing a new VHF directional antenna on top of their GSP Exit 120 cell/TRS tower site pointing southwest. Was wondering how that antenna would be used.

I also heard that new pagers were distributed recently to various members, however not everyone has the new VHF-Hi pagers yet. It was interpreted to me that the VHF-Low band frequency will eventually be decommissioned due to age and limited parts availability.

46.4200 has always come in low and clear for because I live under one mile from exit 120. I have heard the fire departments ask for a re-page due to not hearing the initial page a few times over the years.

Just heard the announcement also. I'm surprised, I thought they would leave it on for a while thinking people still had old pagers and plectrons in their homes. I remember listening to 46.42 when I was a kid living in the next county over. Even back then it was a flame-thrower.

Great signal and outstanding audio up in Somerset. Numerous Fire and EMS noted some of the tone pairs: A: 2468 B: 2155 1733 903 1122 979.
