• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I never had any use for the Zachary T , it didn't have SSB . I always had good luck with the Cobra 139XLR , which I prefer over the 2000 GTL . My next base will be one of these
I forgot this one , it's more Courier than anything .It's a Robyn 24 Range Gainer .

Until I started using modified ham radios for cb, I had a cousin that owned a CB shop and his main product was Robyn radios. Since I was family, He gave me a big discount on anything I bought from him, so my favorite base radio at that time was a Robyn 520d. This was the exact same radio as the Cobra 2000, but I thought it looked more like a radio than the Cobra. The 520 came in two variants, a wood grain face, and chrome face. I had the chrome one

I had 2 or 3 like the one you pictured. One of the best bases out there . With the Uniden board and 858 chip it could be loaded to the max with channels. No problem to shoot skip, I was in Quincy, Illinois one day trying to talk local , a station in The Azores Islands came back to me ,and I was barefoot . I had a woodgrain faced one too, I had to repair the power supply so it would run on house current , I deserved a medal for that, it was my first attempt , and succeeded. And here is that Robyn

I actually was thinking of the Robyn 410 which looks very similar, the 410 was the 40 channel version of the 101. It was also one of the first Robyns with a digital channel display

B.S.
I used to see the 101 in yard sales often , but no 410's. There was a lot of 23 channel Cobra mobiles , Midland, and assorted off brands . Is anyone familiar with a 23 channel Cobra 25 base ? It has to be their first solid-state base

The old tube type Robyn's (T-123B and the yellow T-240D had a Panasonic chassis , like the Teaberry Model T and Gemtronics 5000.
You're right , most of them had Uniden boards in them , except the Cobra 132XLR mobile and 135 XLR base which had a Toshiba board with the TC5080P chip , as did the Tram D62 AM/SSB mobile.

I always found it funny that somebody at Cobra didn’t proofread before they printed millions of various face plates. What in the world is a “DynaMike”? Who is he? We don’t spell microphone “mikerophone”. It should have been “DynaMic”, or just simply Mic Gain.

Actually “Mike” is correct for some applications. I was involved with professional sound for over thirty years. We would set up a mic to mike a guitarist or a drum kit. We also might set up an area mic to mike a group
