Skypilot - Thanks for the notification. Is there a setting in Amazon that will tell you (or update you) on pricing changes for these scanner models (i.e. you tell Amazon which scanner model number you want to monitor and they will notify you if the price changes, etc.).

If you know, "it's good to tell people how to fish" ......

I know if you put an item in your "Wish List", when you look at it in the future it shows the price drop (if any) since you put it in the wish list.

Sorry for the late reply. I just got lucky and saw this thread for the 396XT. Then for the heck of it I typed in the 996XT on amazon and saw the price. One of my BC780XLT's died on me last week so this was perfect timing to replace it with a 996.
