Open mic on Mutual Aid?

I was just wondering if you guys could post your location and if you can hear an open mic or carrier with no audio on Mutual Aid. It's been going on since about 2200 last night (8-19). All the officers here in Tama County could hear it, I could hear it at home in Benton County, and I heard Allamakee County talking about it this morning on my way home about 0700. It's still going on right now at 1830 on 8-20. Just trying to figure out a general area of where it's at by who can hear it.

Yes its coming in here in Jones county also. Thought it might just be some sort of rf interference near my radio and had to lock it out on my feed.

Hearing it in Tama, full bars on 197. Thought maybe 86-43 was sitting on his mic. Wow,its a big area, i thought it was just here local. Still on this AM.

Some ones base station is hung up and just burning up the transmitter. Guess you guys need to get some
DF equipment out and go looking for it.

I am not hearing anything presently on that frequency from SW Cedar Rapids.

RACOM was talking yesterday about a constant carrier tying up sites in SW Iowa, said it was happening for a couple days and that other agencies were complaining. Given the extremely wide area affected, it wouldnt surprise me if it was a patch site high up in a neighboring state keyed up and ducting is causing the signal to appear all over the place. Of course, it could also be just a coincidence. If you are getting it full quieting in Tama county, drive up to the courthouse and take your antenna off to see if you still get signal. If yes then they have a stuck PTT again in the dispatch center.

It is not Tama County. Have the 106 at work and its not picking it up inside the building. Only 10 or so blocks from the courthouse to Hwy. 30 where i'am at. This morning signal seemed to be stronger in Tama at the house and get weaker here in Toledo while mobile, which is weird because were talking only 3 miles or so.

Interesting, i dont think it would be a car, by now the battery would be totally dead or the PA would have nuked itself. Need to get some RDF gear and go hunting

YEP! I got it here in Cedar Falls I can't lock it out or turn it down enough on our dispatch console. I actually had mentally blocked it out until I read this

I did not hear it on my way into work @2000 last night

I heard it off and on going from CR to IC at 2000 lastnight. Coming back from IC to CR at 0430, it was constant, I suppose the band was more open. I did monitor it for a bit and Marion County was calling for ISP and they over rode the signal I had coming in.
