Open or short antennas?!!

Hi fellows!
Greetings from Portugal!
Can anyone send me info about chelton antennas type 9-2?
I have some type 9-2 wich are "shorted" and some 9-2D wich are "open"
Both types are 50 Ohm.
Please send me some info about this type of aircraft UHF antennas.
