Hi everyone,

I cannot seem to grasp the concept of which trunking system is on which scanner etc...

Will my Bearcat BC246T work for Orlando, or are they all digital, thus requiring me to upgrade if I want to monitor everything?

Many thanks...

Last time I was there I used site 1, and was able to hear Orange & Orlando Fire Departments that were not digital yet.

but is everything else digital?
thats what I'm trying to find out...if I get all moved there and then find out that I can't listen to ANY police stuff etc cause it's all digital...well that's gonna suck..I need to plan ahead and work on getting a new scanner if that's the case

Most of the systems in that area are analog for now. Lake County has a couple of P25 conventional VHF repeaters now (for sheriff dispatch) but is planning on installing a digital 800 Mhz system (I believe it will be Moto). Reedy Creek is digital. I remember reading somewhere that Orlando will have a digital system soon but I haven't verified that through any official sources. If you are planning on upgrading, I would go ahead and get a digital scanner as it seems that's where a lot of systems are headed.
