We have a local prison called the Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown (Tuolumne County), CA. It uses a trunked system, and I wanted to program it into my SDS200, but I cannot locate the prison anywhere in the Sentinel Database. I just updated (again) the Sentinel db, but no luck - still can'tSierra Cons screenshot.JPG find the prison.

Could it be the frequencies no longer exist? Is there a way to search Sentinel with a keyword to find the frequencies? Thanks, Peter KM6U

Here is the link to to the page with the Sierra Conserv. Center's frequencies Radio Reference:

Sierra Conserv. Center:

And here is what I see on the RR database page:

Systems with no talkgroups listed won't download into Sentinel.
Thanks Kevin. I'm an absolute neophyte with this stuff; is there a workaround that's easy to do? The only freqs we have out here, by the way, are old-school analog. This was to have been my first attempt at loading and monitoring a trunked system!

you could try pro-scan. there's a free trial. it should download it. make sure to use the search function since there's no tg's listed. try that.

Just looking at the system and license, what is in RRDB is outdated. Likely as a result of rebanding, the frequencies have changed, but likely are still analog. This makes monitoring the prison a little more work beyond just a drag and drop operation until someone does the work to identify and update the changes from when the system was last updated in 2010.

…you will need to set TG’s to “Search” instead of “Scan” also. I see RR wants any TG ”finds” to be reported so they can include them also.

Thanks- Would I just manually program these three frequencies into a Favorites list and scan them normally, i.e. no talkgroup toggle or setting that suggests trunking?

Did you try that? I'm assuming it worked. I'll be getting an SDS100 in a week or two and have a few frequencies I'll want to manually enter as well.

Sorry, haven't tried it yet - I would think it needs a control channel. I don't how how to manually key in frequencies into Sentinel

I also wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve finally upgraded to P25 and hooked into the multi-site CDCR P25 system.
