How do I enter a connect tone into my BCD325P2? I’m not all too sure on how P25 works and I’m trying to listen to the Collin County TX system with no luck. With all the sites inside the system it just says it’s looking for the control channel (yes I’ve entered frequencies) I’m just guessing it’s the connect tone, thanks all.

P25 trunking doesn't use connect tones. And even if it did, you wouldn't need that just to receive on a scanner.

Apparently you dont have the control frequency programmed into the scanner or you are too far away from the system or tower sites to receive the control channel. Also set the squelch to 2 or 3. If the system or any part of it is encrypted you will not hear it anyway.

Hmmmm I’m not understanding why its not working, I have all the frequencies and channels programmed. My other P25 systems work perfectly.

I would suggest hopping over to the below thread. Lots of good local people there to assist you.

I have the control frequencies programmed in, it’s multiple and it doesn’t pick up anything on any of them so it doesn’t know which. I doubt I’m too far from kt since I’m. In the middle of the county. Thanks

I'm willing to bet you simulcast distortion is the issue at hand. It's one of the most discussed issues on these forums. Have a read at this wiki & let us know if it describes what you are facing

That's the old, soon to be shut down, analog system.

If the OP is trying for the upcoming P25 system, it's part of PAWM.

Collin County will be using site 1-02. However, that site on the new system is also simulcast, so that may still be the problem. Right now, that site is mostly in testing for users that will switch over from the old system, although there are a few already using thenew P25 system.
