• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am trying to program a P7100 P25T, My system ID is different than the system NAC.
No matter what I do the system ID field under group options remains greyed out and un-editable. The help file mentions this as a lockable field, but I see no where to lock-unlock it.
I've come along way with my Harris programming thanks to the help from this forum, but this one has me stumped?

You don't enter the system ID in the groups section... it goes in the P25 Wide Area Networks section.

Since it would appear you aren't familiar with setting up a trunked system be extremely careful with what you are doing.

Forts, I was hoping you would reply, you have been very helpful in the past with my migration to Harris software.
I guess my field names/terminology is probably wrong.
I have the WA system setup under the P25 system screen,
set the WACN under networks,
then the system NAC.
The only place I see the system ID field is under group sets, and it is not changeable. Where can I set the system ID? I find no field that allows entry.
I have a very good idea of what I am doing with trunked system programming, the potential of mis-use/programming errors and have a good Harris cheat sheet and double check the appropriate boxes everytime I open the software, but RPM is still a learning curve. I am using RPM 14C05 with the hacks, could my software install be the issue? It allows my to program the trunked system to and from the radio, so I assume the AAC is setup properly?

System ID goes in Options/P25 Wide Area Network Options

Network Address (WACN) is the WACN.... BEE00 etc
System/Region ID is the SYSID
Under Systems/P25 Trunked... for each individual system you select your WA network (from the ones you've already setup) then if needed you can specify the System NAC, Site and RFSS IDs.

Hopefully that helps. The only thing you should need to enter into your group sets are the talkgroups.
