PA Federal Frequencies

So I have been searching through many of the common federal frequencies in the US but also in the state of pa. For example I live in York county pa which is southern pa. What federal frequencies are known of to be used in that area. Or do I have to put them all in and hope I get lucky? Any help would be appreciated.

The best suggestion is to search the federal bands for activity, the amount of activity really varies by area.
162-174.000 MHz
380-400.000 MHz (usually trunked systems in this band)
406-420.000 MHz

There is a list of fed freqs in PA listed in the database

I would add to those 400-420 vs 406-420, as there has been LMR (Non Satellite) found in use
and add the 137-144 and 148-150.7000 bands

And keep in mind, Federal Monitoring is not quite like your local PD/FD/DPW/EMS
you may find nothing for weeks or months, then a fury of activity and then nothing for years

Keep searching and make copious notes, such as CLR/ENC , location/street names or even channnel names
along with the PL/DPL/NAC found

I can attest to that! ...I copied N301 on 162.050 very briefly
in December and daily have been on that freq. and nothing
almost 5 months seems they do not use it much or a one
off brief activity situation?...Marcy

Just note that USMS, DEA, and ATF are all regular users of the state's P25 system and have numerous encrypted talkgroups there. Since they made the jump, their conventional channels have been very rarely used.
