Actually there are a cluster of sites in that area, including four 800 MHz sites, so I guess it's not unusual.

Site 73 would provide best coverage to the training ranges at Ft Indiantown Gap. Site 132 would provide best coverage to the main campus at FTIG. Site 94 would provide coverage to FTIG, but also provide coverage to the casino complex in Grantville. There is a lot of radio traffic at FTIG. We just don't know it because it is on OpenSky. FTIG is a bombing/strafing range for fixed wing aircraft, a gunnery range for tanks and artillery, a ground combat training range for infantry units, a big military helicopter training facility, and the base for the 3rd CST, among other things.

Every now and then, I would get national guard talkgroups appear on the 700MHz system as military helos worked with ground units on training ops. There are a lot of talkgroups. Given that air comms from there would bounce between the Berks A/G site and the York A/G site, it has been difficult to figure much out since I would normally just hear bits and pieces on the Berks site. But, when I was logging the routinely, the NG talkgroups seemed pretty extensive.

Anyone monitoring the Philly Sites? Wish I could hear.. :D

Not missing anything...all you'd hear is hasdbfhsfvhjbsjhklvbsklfgklnfvjklsndfgjksnegjk skdjfvnjksfgnfgnskdfgnjklsdnfgjklsfg.

:ROFLMAO:

I did see 10200 and 10001 come up on Devault earlier tonight. Also had affiliations on a number of out of area stations: Gibson, Stroudsburg, Blooming Grove, etc. I am presuming these are from units migrating south to cover Philly.

I was running Ut on the Philly VHF for awhile, Alot of units from PSP J/M. Saw alot of groups for the first time. Switched to Chesco for the KOP mall response.

I was running UT on the Philadelphia system last night, so I was not tracking PA StarNet. Very interesting activity on it, though, I would wager, with several PSP cars being torched in Center City...

Looming at my log from last evening for Devault VHF:

PSP Statewide
PSP J Tac 2
PSP M Tac 1
PSP P Tac 1
PSP SE Air
PSP York
PSP Lancaster
PSP Avondale
PSP Embreeville
PSP Philly
PSP Media
PSP Skippack
PSP Reading
PSP Frackville
PSP Hamburg
PSP Schuylkill Haven
PSP Bethlehem
PSP Dublin
PSP Trevose
PSP Fogelsville
PSP Hazleton
PSP Bloomsburg
PSP Fern Ridge
PSP Lehighton
PSP Stroudsburg
PSP Laporte
PSP Blooming Grove
PSP Gibson
PSP Ops 1
10212

Needless to say, that’s not typical. Devault usually gets a mix of K, J (Embreeville, Avondale, Lancaster), and L (Reading) cars.

Should be noted also that per my brother, Port Clinton was carrying quite a bit of traffic. Particularly PSP, PennDOT, Conservation, and a few talkgroups that weren't in the database. He didn't screenshot it however.

So, as it were, my little brother couldn't wait until I came home and took the "All-Band Jeep" on a roadtrip of his own last night. Here's some results.

Catawissa:

He states that the license location (40.93944, -76.42527) is correct based on an antenna off test. Site was actively carrying PSP traffic. Site shows 1 additional frequency for the database.

Hazelton:

Sean states that the license location (40.968875, -75.957203) is correct based on an antenna off test, the site on the antenna farm, adjacent to the Little League fields. Site was actively carrying PSP traffic. Site needs to be added to the database.

Montrose:

Sean states that the license location is not correct based on an antenna off test. He said it's definitely in Montrose, but not at the site listed. He thinks it's at the other tower site to the east. Site was carrying no traffic of any kind, only identifying.
