I knew this was going to happen...

He's talking about the Borough of Palisades Park, NJ.

Dan,

My notes show...

F1 155.490 (114.8)
F2 155.610 (88.5) old Edgewater PD F1
F3 158.9625R (DPL 723) shared with OEM [input 153.2375]

Yes, I did mean Palisades Park Borough.

F-1 is the old freq which I have and is dead.

The RR database is listing something new, but that is dead as well.

Maybe someone else knows what is going on...

"I knew this was going to happen"?

Sorry, SCANdal, in my desire to help, I looked too quickly and my aging eyes saw Parkway instead of Park. No need to get jerky about it.

Justin,

Thanks for the help...

Plugged the freq in and been listening for about an hour, Friday night 11 PM to now and
NOTHING.

That is unusual.

That's a weird frequency for a police department as well, nestled around all those car services.

I'll keep listening.

I stand corrected. The frequency and tone provided by Justin are correct.

After an hour or so of non activity, I heard the cars call in checking the parks!

Apparently Palisade Park NJ PD is the place to be a cop!

There are times when I just put the scanner on Tri-boro Police 1 and leave it. I think the longest they went is 2 hours straight without a peep. I hear Teaneck Police all day long, but not a peep out of Hackensack. Then all of a sudden Hackensack pops! Same scanner, antenna, everything!

My two cents

A check of WQN-928 in the FCC records does not indicate a licensed frequency of 153.2375. It does indicate a repeater licensed for 158.9625 with an input of 153.875? The only license I saw in the area for 153.2375 was WPOY-784 which is licensed as part of a trunked system?

153.2375 MHz

Recently from Union County, I've been receiving transmissions from SOME police department on 153.2375. They have a fairly strong signal here. Also, they recently said to switch to channel 2 (referring to it as the traffic channel). I quickly scanned the nearby band area, and sure enough they switched to 153.450 MHz. Strangely, neither frequency in the FCC database are licensed to a police department in the entire state of NJ or NY. Could this be Palisades Park PD channels 1 and 2?? If so, why aren't they licensed with the FCC???

It's a geographically exclusive business/ special industrial license that can be leased to others.
