Over the past several months I have not heard any activity on the Palm Beach County School District LTR system. I have even tried to monitor the freqs in conventional mode to see if there was any activity thinking that perhaps the LTR mapping may have changed. But nothing heard. The LTR system seems to be in place with an occasional cwid station identifier. The system used to be quite busy, now crickets. I realize that the LTR systems are old and being phased out. But where did they go??

Chances are they went on the 800 trunk system. Polk County did that here, went vhf to 800 now

Doesn't appear that they went on to the County system. The Public Transit buses are found there but I have not heard school buses.

Hopefully they did what Broward County did and migrate to a MotoTRBO/DMR system. Those school bus drivers are not known for their brevity on the radio and they don't need to be tying up limited trunked system resources yammering on at length about a student disrespecting them or somesuch.

Agreed. Given the age of the equipment, they would be looking to transition to digital technology. However, I am not aware of any County operated DMR system, so the only other possibility would be a privately owned DMR/NXDN system. It appears that the PBC School District has been renting towers and services from Citation 2 way radio, so this was a good place to start. I know Citation operates at least one DMR Tier 3 System in the county, but I haven't heard any school bus activity on that system. Not sure if they operate another system.

Any other ideas are welcomed.

Thanks
