Hi,

Hope everyone here is well.

Am in mid 80's now, and although I don't like to admit it, I tend to miss many of the nuances in these programs lately.

If anyone could guide me a bit with this, would be very appreciative.
I tried the GroupsIO Forum before bothering you folks here, but no replies.

Would like to run PC-HFDL

It's the real basic setup that I am uncertain about.

Have a SDRPlay RSPdx.
Usually use it with SDRConsole for my sw monitoring.

a. With PC HFDL, do I still want to use SDRConsole ?

b.If so, do I need a VAC between the two programs ? If so, how do I implement it ?

So, as you can guess, it's the real basics of setting it all up prior to using that I am confused over.

If anyone has a spare minute or so, and could, in real detail, guide me in setting
up, would be most appreciative.

Thanks,
Bob

From the SDRplay apps catalog, see this YouTube video. Start watching it at about the 3 minute mark

Yes you will need a VAC application to pipe audio to the SDRPlay. While the video author is using SDRUno, I would bet SDR Console will work just as well. Note that most any other digital app (such as MultiPSK, FLDigi, etc.) will also be using a VAC to pipe the audio.

Here is the most current list of frequencies for HFDL - you can tell this because it lists the new South Korea site that came online about 2 years ago...

Hi Mike,

Much thanks; it all REALLY helps me.

So, I guess the RSPdx will feed SDRConsole.

I came across a writeup that says that all you need from then on is a cable from the pc'saudio output
(going to a Speaker, e.g.), back to the Line-In of the pc. Apparently no VAC.

Will have to look into this more.

Best regards, and thanks again,
Bob

Most newer PCs don't have a line in or mic in anymore - if yours doesn't, you know what you need to do. The HFDL glossary page is a bit dated, but you get the idea
