Hi all,
First off I'd like to apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, and I'd like to clarify that I've looked around on here quite a bit and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I'm trying to use a Hytera PD752 to scan the Lancaster site of the SaiaNet connect+ system in Buffalo NY. I'm only trying to receive 4 relatively inactive talkgroups, being both LVAC ambulance dispatches as well as the two fire dispatch talkgroups for the Buffalo-Niagara Int'l Airport. I have the 3 voice channels of the Lancaster site programmed in conventional mode and set to pseudo trunk, and the control channel is programmed for slot 2 only. Multiple coverage maps show I'm well within range of this site, and while I do receive bits of conversation, it's occasionally a bit garbled and I often lose pieces of conversation. Granted I don't expect it to be perfect, but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks to get it to follow the conversations a bit better. The only thing I can think of would be to play with the group call hang time and/or the scan rate for my scan list. Do connect+ systems generally stay on a single talkpath for the duration of a group call or can it change rapidly? If these systems do tend to stick to a single talkpath, ie frequency and time slot, during a given group call, is there a specific setting I should modify to try and match this to follow the conversation or have the radio unmute quick enough to hear the first part of the conversation? Thanks in advance!
Chris
