I think i may have found a problem with the database. I tried to program the Peterborough Police for a buddy of mine in the ARC246 software and its a EDACS system and when it does create the bank its all blank with no tag groups and its conventional... Whats up guys???? Very strange..

It's actually an Edacs system so it is trackable, however you won't hear any intelligible voice.

Last time I was through Peterborough I heard two EDACS control
channels. There seemed to be two systems, with analog
activity in there, which sounded like city services other than
police. Perhaps someone closer to PBO or passes through more
frequently would like to take a stab at sorting that one out.

I herd from a mesia person in Peterpatch that for time the PD had some tech problems with the system and the media/public where reciving the P.D. Maybe the troubles have been sorted out now.

I have heard a similar rumour regarding Peterborough Police.... something to the effect that their encryption software died, and replacing it would be cost prohibitive. I haven't had a chance to experiment yet though. Anyone else?

I was there earlier in the year and they were digital. No signs of any analog traffic on the system.

In Sept. 2005, I heard two CC's 867.6625 and 868.1125. The 2nd
one seems to be newer, and possibly a spurious response, being
450kHz higher (the 1st IF of the BC235 which it was first heard on).
I'm sure it checked out on a different receiver. There may be a
second site for the system.

I believe I heard some analog at the time, but with only having a couple
of hours passing through, and logging Fleetnet activity, couldn't spend
any more time with it.

The Peterborough PD saga (if I can call it that, a bit melodramatic :)
seems to come from bits of information from people who pass through
but don't live there. A lot of this could be cleared up by one person
who lives within groundwave coverage of the system. Either that, or
someone who passes through or visits frequently. Is there not such a
person in existance (perhaps I have answered my own question)....?

I live near Peterpatch, I know that it was in fact a tech problem they had for a few months with the police department system and thats why people where reciving them. Those radio troubles have been cleared up but.......there was rumblings at a few months ago about a city/county wide radio project because the city police had a hard time getting replacement parts and tech suport for their system, and they wanted all emergency services to be able to have inter-communications.

So Hemi, they have cleared up their radio problems. So are they still encrypted today or not? I will be passing through their in a couple weeks, and is it worth while logging them into my scanner.
