Phila help

Hello, I just joined this fourm,I had a Bearcat scanner many years ago, I understand PPD has a new system that is trunked,my question is what type of scanner is needed to listen to both sides of the conversation on the Phila system? I will be purchasing a scanner soon preferably a hand held.

You Need a Digital Scanner of some type . Ether the Uniden Bearcat Digital Scanners Like the BC-296D Or the BC-796D Or the BCD-996T Scanners or The Radio Shack PRO-96 Digital Scanner or the PRO-2096 Digital Scanner or the New GRE PSR-500 Digital Scanner . But Most of the Talkgroups on there Motorola Astro P25 Digital Trunked System are Encrypted . Both Police and Fire Talkgroups . Hope this Helps . I'm Sure someone Else will Give you more Info .
