Word on the street county proposed this system each cop has their own number now they'll address the cop, not the car number . I sure hope when an off duty cop needs to get on the radio they say “OFF duty” and the number just to make sure people know they may be in plain clothes and may Not have all the equipment they would have on duty that my thought which happens sometimes since all city police have their own radios Pittsburgh EMT and paramedics usually say what they are and there badge number for example ” dispatch this is EMT or paramedic 114 on scene with a accident” so the dispatcher and other unit know they are off duty and may not have the equipment they would have on Duty . if anyone has anymore information please share.

I heard that today

I have also heard that it will differentiate the shift you are working. It may be to do away with the 3323AM, 3323PM and 3323NT when a car is held over due to a call.

Will be curious to see if the road guys keep all 5 or drop the first “3” since all city cars have it. They used to drop the first “3” all the time after first contact.
