• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Purchased several G5's for our FD to test out. I have several area 400mhz conventional frequency's programmed and have a scan channel set up. My problem is I have tried numerous settings but the PL or CTCSS doesn't seem to work. I pick up everything on the frequency and not just the agency I want. Clearly I dont have the channel setup correctly. Any help is appreciated.

Also, is nuisance delete coming soon?

Im running firmware 1.31

nuisance delete has been on when using trunking. I have not tried it on an analog scan.
Are you sure you have the proper PL for who it is you are listening for?

The screenshot you have is selective call. You should not be hearing anything on that position unless tones go out.

Your PL code is correct for Dumount

You said Scan list in your post. Are you hearing anyone else on 477.375 besides Dumount? According to the RRDB, 477.375 is only licensed to Dumount FD in NJ.

If you are setting up a conventional scan group, you want to make sure this option is enabled: CT/CDCSS OPTION:

It appears that Selective Call is effectively the same as Monitor Mode when the protocol is CSQ.

CT/CDCSS Option for the scan knob position is likely the ticket.

If you really want selective call the protocol type needs to be 2 tone
than a box with protocol alias will appear than select what type of alias,
mine is set to Motorola which is setup in D 3

Somehow I missed the 'CT/CDCSS Option:' because my setting was set to 'Disable'.
I set it to 'Match CT/CDCSS and haven't heard a peep of any outside agencies.
Thanks for the info!
Last question, is there a nuisance delete option yet?

Also, I know I posted a picture of Dumont FD, but the outside agency's I was hearing were on the Paramus PD & FD dispatch channels. Just getting Paramus now that I made the change to the CT/CDCSS option.
