Police chase on Rt. 27/Carroll County

Carroll County sheriff's office chased a subject on Rt. 27 who refused to pull over for a routine traffic stop. A five minute pursuit took place and ended with the suspect turning onto a dead-end cul de sac. He stopped the car and was taken into custody; a subsequent NCIC/MVA check indicated that the man's license had been revoked twice for DWI. Once in PA, once in MD. Also, he was not the registered owner of the vehicle he was driving, which was a Ford Escort station wagon. It was not determined whether or not the car had been stolen.

Only an idiot would try to outrun the police in a Ford Escort.

Me too. As good as the police are these days, they could probably catch almost anyone in a Ford Escort.

I guess in theory somebody could have a customized Ford Escort with a racing engine...why they would do that I don't know.
