Is there anyway to clean up the live audio quality when I'm listening to RR. Almost sounds like signal is constantly changing phase, or something. Slightly garbled. Sometimes very clear, occasionally completely distorted. Listening for a few years, love the site! Recommended to many friends. Going premium for my new BC346XT coming from Scanner Master. Thanks, Mike KJ6LPS

You'll need to be a little more precise than just "listening to RR." There are thousands of feeds - which one are you hearing issues with?

As was asked, what feed are you referring to?

The over all feed quality is under the control of the feed owner.
So you get what they feed.

You can run the feed you receive through processing software or use a player like WinAmp that has EQ where you can process the audio.

WinAmp has skins that have EQ faiders to make tonal adjustments so you can in effect tweak the feed audio somewhat to your liking. You can also adjust gain.

Also, check your system OS to see if it or the sound card controls have an EQ.

You can also run the feed audio through external EQ or other processing equipment.

Your results will largely depend on the feed quality.

Escambia County, FL Feed

There are 2 feeds for Escambia County, FL. But the issue is with the one that is Escambia County Fire and Rescue as well as the ECSO on it, not the feed with Okaloosa and Walton Counties. The feed has a severe 60 Hz hum that is at least 75% to 90% of the audio, it is almost un-copyable. I know who the feed provider is, but by accident, I deleted the ONLY 3 emails I had to and from him, he is in the Navarre, FL area (about 15 miles south of me here in Milton, FL). If anyone knows him, please pass this along, I don't know if he checks the feed online, so he may not be aware. I can provide him with some chokes if he needs them, to help filter the audio, or I will just add Escambia Sheriff, PPD 800 MHz Motorola Smart Trunk II system and Escambia Fire-Rescue, when I set up my local Military Air/LEo, EMS, Fire-Rescue Feeds. I am much closer to the repeaters and have crystal clear RX on my end and use a power supply that does not interfere, so it is super clean,

How’s it going Walter? When I first read your post I thought it was my feed, but I'm the one who provides the Escambia to Walton County EMS/Fire only feeds. I monitor my feed daily to ensure that it is operating properly. If anyone see’s an issue with it I hope they report it.
