I'm on it! It feels good to finally have something to contribute, after all the good information I have taken from the site over the years!!

The last 2 days, I've just been hearing PHPD on 158.8800 P25. They also sound a lot better, appears they tuned the system up, since they first testing.

Hi guys,
Kindly share with us the P25 NAC info. '
Also are the frequencies fully P25 now, or are you guys still hearing analog traffic with the old PL?

Check your PM box i replied. And i can also confirm 158.8800 is full p25 now. If and whenever oxpd 155.745 goes p25 someone will post info for sure.

PHPD P25

Port Hueneme PD is P25 only with NAC 175 on 158.880 (Band 3) They are still sharing 155.745 PL 100.00 analog (Band 1) with Oxnard PD. From monitoring them it sounds like they will be moving to 158.880 P25 for their primary dispatch at some point but I cannot verify this for sure, They have been testing tweaking the P25 channel since they got it on the air and it is sounding better. They have also been using 154.920 CLEMARS for records checks, etc. overt the last couple of weeks, presumably while they get their P25 channel sorted out.

PHPD MDC ID

I happen to find out by chance that they are running MDC. I got a new to me Astro Spectra and was set up already for MDC.

Below is some of the unit ID's Ive been able to tag. I estimate they have about 30-40 portables in service and 10-15 cars in service. (including detective units etc.)

( * ) on patrol unit ID's means I've heard traffic on those ID's. There's 1 silktop black and white that sam units drive . Patrol black and whites have unit numbers , 801-809?, some numbers taken up by black and white K-9 units. They also have an unmarked crown vic K-9 unit. . In the fleet there is a command SUV , victor and david unit cars. Also 1 parking enforcement truck. Parking might just be using handhelds. parking has call signs 151 and 152

Exactly. This is the second time I've heard this "commission" request recently and it's getting pretty old. I can't speak for LAFlyer but I personally choose to volunteer my time here as a Db admin not only to learn about new developments around the state, but because I get personal satisfaction from seeing this site grow and doing the best I can to keep the database info for California as accurate as possible.

If you want to play the "what's in it for me" game you might want to reconsider why you participate here or take up a new hobby. ;)

Browsing through old posts trying to figure out why OPD is so difficult to hear on my scanners (I guess the 60W transmitter doesn't help much); however this post as well LAFlyer's post just caught my attention.

Thank you for volunteering your time as it's no easy task to be an admin for any website. The amount of information available on radioreference.com is immense and all I can say is when you take the whole thing into consideration is "WOW!" that is a lot of information to chase around and keep up-to-date, etc.

Without radioreference we would have to "buy" all the frequency information in order to pay-off the vultures. I am not so worried about finding the frequencies because I have the resources and a lot of time to do so, but this website is a blessing and it saves me the time having to search the net. Thanks to all who contribute!

Your not the only one who is complaining about Oxnard really crappy audio. Its usually super low and unreadable. While PHPD audio is super loud :))

yeomandroid :

I too have issues with receiving Oxnard City police. I use a mobile unit with an external antenna on the roof on my truck and it still sucks. I'm kinda hoping they go digital sometime. Would make it for a cleaner audio

Okay, so I'm not losing my mind but I wonder how Broadcastify is getting a good clean signal. I am only guessing that somebody has an apartment right near the antenna and is feeding signals into Broadcastify. The only thing I really dislike is the delay with an Internet feed, which sometimes can even be up to nearly 20 to 30 seconds delayed on a high speed top-tiered FiOS connection.

Same here on any Motorola radio I own, but not on the scanners that's where they sound weak, low audio, distortion etc

I'm off Vineyard ave @ Walnut Dr near Oxnard Fire station 67. On my BCT15X scanner is scratchy but my xts3000 it comes in clear. So it's time to get rid of the scanners at go with mobile radios haha..
Yeom:
I did hear that Oxnard PD was testing digital for an upgrade but that was almost a year ago and haven't heard anything lately.

I'm down by Ventura rd and golf course. I have noticed with my Motorola radios sound a lot better than the bcd396xt signal is stronger and audio is cleaner but the scanner picks things up my Motorolas don't like VHF low band, air band 700mhz etc. Keep the scanner ! Oh and if Oxnard goes p25 in the clear that would be epic!

Dispatchers always have the mic too far from their mouths and makes the audio low and since the calls get routed to the MDC's officers don't complaint as much, is my guess. Around Oxnard receive is decent on the scanner. But once in Ventura or Camarillo, I use my Motorola Astro to monitor.
