Portland Fire & Rescue has established a protocol for hi-rise fires.
A hi-rise box assignment comprises 7 Engines, 2 Trucks, 2 Rescues and 2 Chiefs.
Each company knows exactly what their assignment is, in expected normal order
of arrival.
Every company carries a booklet (pocket guide?) that describes its assignment in detail
and the pieces of equipment to be taken to the building.
