OPD trunked channel 1 (TGID 16) is 10-33 EMERGENCY TRAFFIC ONLY ! Non scene units are 10-75 (switch to LGR) to channel 2 for Ocala city-wide community policing purposes.
OPD DISPATCH SENDS A CALL TO THE OPD Sgt to respond to a call, evidently, dispatch states that an FBI employee is at the Jade Restaurant, near Easy Street and the Hollywood 16 Movie Theatre, and he sees what looks like 3 sticks of dynomite attatched by wires sitting on the front seat of a Black Toyota Tacoma in the parking lot...
OPD Sargant arrives, cautiously, and has additional units respond to view the parking lot... a unit is staged at Sonic, one at McDonalds, one near Best Buy... additional available units called to respond code 2 to block exits and to stand-by until OPD makes contact w/ the FBI employee. OPD makes contact at approx 4:07 PM and then OPD supervisors approach and view the Tacoma... They agree that it does appear to be dynomite, or something looking extremely similar.
Alpha page requested, disposal unit requested, and S.O. contact person requested to call Supervisor at the scene.

MC Fire Rescue called to respond at approx 4:30 PM, to respond to the Hollywood 16 Theater. MCFR is responding on Fire North TGID 1100 on the MC Trunk system.
OPD is questioning various people in and around the movie theater and the parking lot. OPD is also running the license plate of the Tacoma.
4:39 MCSO Detectives are on scene, Bomb Squad to be arriving shortly...
Command Post is now staged, located near Sonic, to include MCSO Deputy's, Detectives, and Fire Chief, with Haz-Mat 1, Eng. 1, and Rescue 1.
5:01 PM the MCSO Bomb Squad is on scene. 5:15 PM request for the PIO is made. The parking lot is basically locked down at this point, and buisnesses are informed to keep patrons inside the buildings, not allowing anyone to leave. Scene Commander is requesting midnight shift OPD officers to come in early and come directly to the scene for crowd control. FBI is now on scene at 5:27 PM and reporting to the Command Post area.
5:30 a request is made to begin a search for any possible secondary devices.
A UCF student is the possible owner of the Tacoma, and is being held at the scene in Ocala.
at approx 5:45 PM - UCF (in Orlando) a UCF instructor was called via telephone from the Ocala scene to verify the students story that the device was created for a class project of some sort, and the UCF instructor confirmed the story along side an Orange County Sheriff Deputy. Based on this updated information, the SO Bomb Squad with attempt to remove the questionable device with the robot.
