I'm running a Megawatt 30 amp power supply and have my Yaesu Ft 450d and LDG autotuner hooked to it, been running it like this about a year and a half I'd say, no problems out of it so far..

I have the Astron 35M, never turned it off in 15 years. Bought a Jet stream JTPS32MAB switching supply. $79 including shipping. 30 amps with meters.

I bought an IOTA DLS-55 w/quick charge plug in, used, about a year ago for $75 to power my HF rig. It had no RF noise and a very clean output. Last week, it quit working. I bit the bullet and bought an Astron RS-50A power supply from HRO. It arrived in a huge box weighing 50 pounds. I rigged up a 10 gauge power wire with Anderson power poles, grounded the chassis, plugged her up and turned her on. Silence. I'm not used to power supplies that don't make any fan noise. But, work she does and very well. My only concern is how warm that huge supply gets. I should put it under my desk to keep my feet warm, lol.
I bought the Astron on the good reputation of the name. After reading the reviews, some Hams don't care for it too much - they either love it or hate it, not too much in between. As an aside, the RS-50M with the meters, gets great reviews!? Go figure...
I'm powering my 2 meter rig with a Pyramid PSV-300 which I bought new before I read any reviews about it. It has a little fan which comes on every now and again, you can hear it but its not annoying. It also has clean DC and performs very well for my Yaesu FT-2900.

Thank you!

I ended up going with the MFJ 4230MV for now. I found a deal on a couple Astron RS-20A too that I'm gonna get for future radios.

That 4230 will serve you well. I own and use the MVP version for my 2/70 base radio.

As an aside, I also own and use an Alinco DM-330FX for my HF station. It also has served me very nicely.

I used an Astron RS-35M, that was loaned to me along with a complete HF station by my Elmer while I was saving my pennies for my own HF station. It worked good too, but the only minor issue I found with it is the meter's back-lite bulbs were blown in it. After reading some eHam reviews, I found out it is a common problem with the Astrons. No fix either. Once they are blown they are done. Meters still worked though, just no lighting. Like I said, minor issue, but I am that guy that has to have everything working as it should all the time. My wife thinks I am OCD. ;)

Good luck and 73!
