This may be very old news to everyone, however I just discovered an additional frequency alert, in addition to the multicolored LED, and audio alerts. In the menu, the back-light has a *flash* option, as well as on and off.
I inadvertently came across this option while programming in some new info.
I don't recall ever reading about this feature before.

If you didn't know about it either, try it out. It will get your attention.

I apologize if I am telling you you've known for awhile.

Lol, I have had my 106 for almost a year, and I just found out about the LCD Flash two days ago. I have been using ARC to program but switched to WIN500 and found the flash. Lol

I had mine set to flash one day and forgot about it. Anyways I was driving and was behind a car and it was dark out. I had the flash set on the blue color. As soon as a transmission came across it started to flash and it lit my car up pretty good. Then car in front of me started to pull over as I drove by. So I guess be careful if you have it set to flash while driving while it's dark. :)

I have known it for a while but it's always good a feeling when you discover something on your own. No need to apologize.:)

Be careful; You certainly don't want to get busted for impersonating a LEO.
