Pro-107 Audio Boost?

What precisely does the ABst (audio boost) setting on the 107 do?

I have it enabled at the trunking system level (Motorola) but do not have it set at the individual talk group level via the iScan software. I don't notice any difference in audio levels. Can someone explain what this setting is supposed to accomplish?

If either the trunked system or the talkgroup have their "audio boost" flag set, the scanner will increase the voice volume setting by two steps. If you're already at the "MAX" volume setting, you won't notice any difference.

Carried my 107 back to the "shack for a refund, because of such a "low volume level"!
