PRO 107 Problem - Need Suggestions

My PRO 107 has developed a problem which makes it virtually useless. When ever one of the buttons is pressed (not all but most buttons, IE "scan" works OK) the system locks-up and displays "Heap error 267B1F : 2682". I can clear this by turning off and back on. I have tried the resets listed in the manual but the problem continues. I am about to take it back to Radio Shack for repair but wonder if there is something else to try before turning it over to them. To me,It appears to be a software issue. I like the radio and use it quite a bit with no problems before this.

Have not heard of a HEAP ERROR on the Pro-107. If you miss typed and meant the Pro-197, DDAN posted the following information on another thread.

I haven't seen the problem you describe, however, I know if the batteries have a low charge and you attempt to turn on the radio, it can lock up and corrupt the SD card. Easy fix: change out the batteries and reformat/reload the SD card.
