I recently came across a couple of used Pro-107's and bought them. Nice idea. Love the small form factor (I also have a pro-106).

All seems well, except: It seems that sometimes they just stop scanning. Either that or the local PD shuts up completely for a half hour or more. If I "menu out" and "play" again I start picking them up again.

It seems to happen when one officer "traffic's" another and invites them to "common."

Like this

"33 38 traffic."

"38"

"33 38 go to common"

Then it goes dead. My pro 106 picks up the conversation on the common channel, and other traffic on the agency band as well. But the 107 stays quiet and the animated arrow is still "scanning."

I'm pretty sure I set up the config properly and loaded them into the SD card. Current firmware and library.

Buy the way, one of these 107's is serial number 115.

Dont know if this relates to your issue, but Wichita PD has two encrypted TGs:

112 007 E Wich PD Narc Wichita Police -- Narcotics Law Tac
120 007 E Wich PD Narc Wichita Police -- Narcotics Law Tac
I would "skip" these if you have them programmed in.

Are these the "common" TGs you are referring to? If so the 107 should handle them just fine.

4208 107 A WPD West/Sou Wichita Police -- West/South Common Law Tac
4848 12f A WPD Nor/East Wichita Police -- North/East Common Law Tac

Also you might ask in the Kansas forum.

Sometimes if you move the scanner while using the stock antenna this might affect the signal strength and your reception.

Personally I find the 107 painfully slow in scanning, it misses many conversations my ancient 433 picks up with no problem. My 107 was buit a little after yours, mine is S/N 199 one of the first in Indiana.

Pro-107 issue

Hi,

I had a problem where if I placed a channel on pause to listen to a particular frequency, if I then went back to scan, it would not seem to pick up any other signals. With firmware and software updates, this seems to have gone away and everything works normally.

It happened on two different Pro-107's until upgrading the firmware.

Well, I had an error in how I had the WPD easst/nort and west/south, which I think was really needed for common.

All seems fine now. No unexplained gaps in reception.
