hey, my dad is getting rid of his Pro 2050 and 2052, i see that the 2052 has remote control ability and other options. i was wondering if anyone had suggestion of best software to use since i will have to purchse it most likely (most i am seeing around 15$) i mainly want it so that i can just put the radio in a closed drawer and do everything from the computer but also have alpha tags...

i am also new to this radio b/c i got out of scanning when trunktrackers started coming out so wondering what all this radio is cable of as well from mods and such... i am finding some online but just wondering if this is an overall decent non digital trunk tracker... and obviously NOT rebandable, heh...

Reviews, software links, mod links, ect. can all be found here

I haven't heard too much about this new Radio Pro2052 software, but if you're willing to spend a wee bit more than USD15, Scan Control is the way to go. By the way, this scanner will not do digital trunking - something many areas are moving toward. I'd check the database for your area first.
