When scanning, the Bank name does not appear on the screen. Is there a way to enable this, so that I know what banks I am using? (without having to memorize them).

on the pro 2096 it looks like this
0123456789
+++-+-+-+-
Scan up...
(blank line)-<-------always blank until it scanns a specific channel, then displays the talkgroup or channel id

on my Pro-97 it looks like this
0123456789
+++-+-+-+-
Scan up...
Riv Sheriff <----depending on which bank it's scanning----will change to talkgroup name or channel id

What you see is what you get........

Thats just how it is. The firmware of the two radios is different, I personally prefer the Pro-96 display that that gives you 2 lines to display alpha text (Bank and Channel/Talk Group) as opposed to the 97's only showing the bank name while scanning and only the Channel/TG when jabbering. I suppose a mix of the two would be the best, or maybe have the setup be use selectable, but these radios simply do not allow for upgrades or changes to that level of funtion.

The 2096 does not display the bank name while scanning as you found out I don't know of any way to make it to do so. I like the way the 97/ 2055 display the bank name while in scan mode myself.

Yeah.. I have made several banks which are similar, but are specific to certain routes that I regularly drive
For example, I have

Bank 3 is CHP for San Diego, Oceanside, Temecula
Bank 4 is CHP for Temecula, Riverside, Rancho Cucmonga,
Bank 5 is CHP for Irwindale, and a few other NE Los angeles CHP Stations
Bank 6 is CHP for Castaic, Buttonwillow, Bakersfield
Bank 7 if CHP for San Diego, East San Diego, El Centro

I keep forgetting which one is which.... and it would be nice to be able to at least quickly see the bank name as I change banks as I am driving. A quick look or a one or two button
push solution would be ideal. But I don't want to have to push a whole sequence to see the name.

any ideas on how to quickly acces the bank name
