I have a Pro-651 and 197 both programmed the same. They are both programmed to a p25 phase 1 system in Lancaster County, Pa. Years ago the County switched all the police talk groups to encryption. Ever since I am receiving encrypted artifact on non-encrypted talk groups. It usually occurs after a transmission. Can someone please help. This drives me nuts, and I miss transmissions due to it.

the tg's are, FD TGID are low 2000's, the PD TGID (encrypted) are low 3000's. I also have it programmed to ID scan. both scanners are doing it.

I hear the same on my 651. 1/2 mile from nearest tower, can see the red light out of my window.

Time to ugrade, It happens when a fire call ends and an ENC PD call is active. The scanner hangs momentarily.

We have the same thing happen on our county system when the band opens and a system from 100 miles away will make the controller hang open and we hear the open band traffic on our subscriber radios. The issue is in our controller but it is not worth it to swap out the old controller.

I tried to see if I posted on here about this and could not find it! Thank you.

All the police comms is now encrypted on that system, but there are some fire departments that also have the ability to use encryption, i dont know why they would need it but they do use it quite frequently. Thats probably what your hearing and the only thing to do is lock them out so you dont hear them but they need to be programmed into the scanner first in order to lock them out.

Nope, on the 651 this happens while on Main Dispatch and A B C Response as well as the ops TG's. Lock Out isn't a viable option.
Some FD's do Enc on their private TG's.

The only fix is new radio.. AFAIK
