Right now I pretty much have a brick, expensive brick, since Maricopa Co, AZ changed their system. My question is, can the 652 be retrofitted with whatever it takes to
bring it back? Or, I am open to any scanner that will allow me to listen again.

Unfortunately those radios can't be upgraded, so if you're trying to hear this, you're out of luck

If you are speaking of the P25 Phase 2 system... no, there are no upgrades, retrofits, or add-ons that will allow that scanner to monitor those systems.

The first part of your question was already answered in that the PRO-652 will not be able to monitor that system. But, to answer the second part of your question, yes there are other scanners that are able to monitor that system. Uniden and Whistler both make scanners that will monitor a P25 Phase II system. However, since I'm not in Arizona, I can't make a recommendation of which model would serve you best. You may want to ask for a recommendation in the Arizona Forum.
