After downloading frequencies you want scanned to radio how do you seperate them so the name of each shows up ?
The screen says scanning bank 1 but the name of what is being scanned never changes.

Thank you

That information is entered by you in the software you are using to program the scanner. Since you don't tell us what software (if any) you used we can't help further.

Check this Easier To Read manual for more information.

Please attach your ARC500 .gr5 file so that we can take a look at it. You will need to zip the file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

Select (at least) one scan list, to be active. (1 key = scan list 1, 9 key = scan list 9, <func>1 = scan list 11, etc.)
so when I am in the software, go to scan list, check one box, then upload to scanner? I think what I have been doing wrong is checking to many boxes. Do you have to upload list (conv freq, agancies, etc) individualy and upload them to a different checked box ? I have been doing them as one big group

I just use the standard arc 500 software. But i think the problem is that I do each of the tabs to see what is avaliable and download them as one big bunch

You can enable the scan lists in the software, or via the keypad.

Uploading to the scanner is one batch file, you cannot piecemeal upload. It overwrites whatever the current programming is, with a whole new setup.

For trunking: you create a system, with the control channels for the sites of interest for that trunking system. Then you assign the talkgroups of interest to that system. You must select the scan lists you want each talkgroup to be assigned to, as they can be in multiple lists.

Scan lists can include a mixture of trunked objects & conventional frequency objects. I would not recommend mixing different trunked systems in a single scan list.

I reset the scanner to factory settings. using the software, I did three counties with conventinl frecuencies and one airport listing. in scanlist I check marked boxes 1-4. uploaded and I still get nothing enabled. I must be doing something wrong

Are you sure the programming is transferring to the scanner? You should see the percentage of the transfer on the scanner display while the transfer is being done. Did your install a driver for the cable? Which cable are you using? If your cable has a mono adapter on the end, remove it. The PRO-652 requires a tip/ring/sleeve stereo plug. Make sure that you are plugged into the PC/IF jack on the scanner and not the headphone jack.

That assigned those items to scan list 1, 2, 3, & 4. You still need to enable scanning of the desired lists, once you are in scan mode. That is by pressing the keys, as I mentioned previously.

Edit:
Check this video, he uses ARC-500 to program some stuff. You can see the three scan lists, which he calls also banks.

yes, every time I upload to the scanner the percentage changes and at the end there is a beep. I checked to see if the software had an update, it did downloaded and istalled. it had a new driver with it. The cable has no markings, but i got it off of ebay. one end is usb with a red and green light, the othere looks like a regular headphone plug

As I requested in Post #7, please attach your ARC500 .gr5 programming file so that we can take a look at it to check for programming errors. That is the file you send to the scanner to program it.

Did you save the file that you uploaded to the scanner? If you didn't, click on Download from Scanner. Once ARC500 is populated, click on Save As, give the file a name, and save it. The file will have a .gr5 extension. You will need to zip the file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

It sounds like you are trying to attach ARC500. There is no problem attaching an ARC500 programming file with the .gr5 extension. It will be in whichever folder it was in when you saved it.
