Win95 is for the Pro-95 scanner.
For the Pro-92, you'll want Win92.

If you mean will it show ALPHA TEXT the answer is yes. Otherwise I am not sure what you mean by "show talkgroups". As already mentioned, get a copy of WIN92. It is freeware.

Some people might say "modified". Almost 30 years ago now, I took some 8 channel crystal controlled scanners and and put CPUs into them. They originally had 8 incadescent lights to indicate which channel is active. I turned them into 20 channel scanners with lots of features; but still crystal controlled. Here's a pic:

would anyone know what programming cable works with a pro 92? 29-047 wont work
Sure it will, works on mine using Windows XP.

Did you check device manager for the USB->serial port assigned and select that port in Win92 configuration menu? BTW, you likely had a typo, the cable is 20-047

The same cable works for the PRO-92, PRO-93, PRO-95 & PRO-97 (and perhaps some others).

the 20-047 will not work on mine either, and thats the only one they see at RS, also mine wont scan the trunked frequencies, If I stop the scan on a trunked frequency, it will read it all night, other will only scan bank 0, which is where I have regular frequencies stored

There must be an issue with your computer or your Pro-92. I use the 20-047 USB cable to program my Pro-92 and Pro-2067 with no problems.

The 20-047 is the USB programming cable that Radio Shack sells. If it isn't working for you on the PRO-92/93/95/96/97 scanners, then you likely have the wrong COM port assigned to the cable under Windows Device Manager.

the pro 92 / 2067 are very good scanners put the trunking in banks 1-8 only
mot no order needed / edec system start with 01 on in the bank / ltr no order needed

I've had trunking in all 10 banks for years. My 20-047 on this PC is as in screenshot. On laptop it's com4.

Steve, tell us step by step on how you are trying to connect to the scanner. Are you pushing any buttons on the radio or just plugging the cable into it?

Im plugging in the 047 into a usb slot on front of computer, then plugging the other end into the scanner, I have 2 different plugs for the 047, Ive check them both, turn scanner on, go to, read scanner, starts searching then times out, then will say i have the wrong cable attached, using a dell P3 with XP pro
