Pro 96 Battery Pack

I just purchased a Pro 96 off ebay, got a great deal on it, however it did not come with a battery pack. I know the Pro 96 comes with a black battery pack for non rechargeable batteries and a yellow for rechargeables. Are these battery packs generic or will I have to find one specifically made for the Pro 96?

I believe you will need one specifically made for the Pro 96.
The Pro 97s may use the same part # not sure. They also use the black/yellow battery holders.
It may me encouraging to know, I bought two Pro-39s a couple years ago that needed battery holders. Went to RS store, ordered and had them in a couple days.

I don't know if they're the same battery holders that the Pro-97 takes, but the Pro-96 parts list is on the Radio Shack website at

The yellow (rechargeables) holder is Cat # 12228805 "HOLDER ASSY FOR RECHG. BT"
and the black (non-rechargeables) is Cat #12228813 "HOLDER ASSY BATTERY"

The pro95,96 and 97 all have the same battery pack.
check to see if theres any price difference and go with the cheapest.

No Parts sheet at RS support for Pro-97.....YET
