PRO 96 Files

I just purchased a 96 and was wondering about the best way to aquire data files to download. Specifically, I was looking for files of the Los Angeles area. The local RS store did download their scancat file but it is not as complete as I would like. Any suggestions? (As this is my 1st post, pardon me if this is the incorrect forum, but please direct me where I should look). Thanks!

The various yahoo groups will have files you can download, but with any scanner, it's always more "tailored" if you create the files yourself.

Thanks for the advice. Tailoring is neccessary true, but I was hoping some of the heavy lifting for major agencies was already done and I would only have to tweak it. I did check the few yahoo groups (via links from this site) I could find and I was surprised by the comparatively few files out there. I couldn't find anythig for Los Angeles of even So Cal. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right spot????? Thanks!

Did you check the Pro-96 yahoo group?
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PRO-96/
A quick check showed several files for Southern CA as well as LA.
Look under Files>P96 Files.

Thanks for the tip Dave! I wasn't able to immediately view the files as I am new and my membeship is pending. Hopefully there will be something. The scancat/Radio Shack downloaded file they hooked me up with at the store was a start but it had many errors.
