Pro-96: pro 96 Issues

I have the pro 96, I initialized it and now I can't get anything. I programmed the frequencies in. But when I hit scan, nothing happens. It just sits there. Any help would be awesome

It sounds like you re-initialized it. Now you need to re-program it with your desired channels.

I've tried that, but it acts like the programming didn't take? It will only scan if I keep hitting the scan button not continuously

Please post a link to the system you are trying to program from the database

Are you using programming software or doing it manually?

It is a pain to program without software.

The memory channels are organized into banks, you'll need to press Scan and then a numeric key to enable the bank otherwise nothing will scan. See page 49 of the owner's manual here

If I read your original post right, you are saying the radio will not scan. I used to have the same issue with my '96.
It would just sit there. Only would happen if I didn't use the scanner for a couple of months.
What I basically had to do is take the scanner apart, remove the keypad, and wipe the rubber "fingers" that hit the circuit board down with alcohol. All the disassembly involved may not a task for the faint of heart, but it did remedy it every time.
